World Jewish Relief launches new microsite celebrating diverse range of Jewish survival stories

What emotions and memories does the word “survival” make you think about? In the Jewish community alone so many people have stories to tell about survival. So I’ve come to North London to speak to World Jewish Relief about a new microsite they’ve launched, documenting the stories of survival within the Jewish community.

Dutch museums identify exhibits looted by Nazis: many artworks seized from Jewish owners

Following an intensive survey, Dutch museums have identified 139 works of art in their collections that were likely snatched forcibly from Jewish owners during the Nazi regime. A review is under way of Dutch artwork dating back to 1933 to establish if they were stolen from Jewish families during the Holocaust. The review has issued the names of 20 people whom the museums said definitely had 61 pieces stolen from them.

The true way is to know one’s character, truly recognizing one’s own deficiencies and one’s good qualities. And when one knows his deficiencies – he should correct them with actual avoda, and not satisfy himself merely with bemoaning them.1

Sefer HaTanya – First Printing of Hebrew-German Edition / Das Buch Tanja zweisprachig

On Chol Hamoed Sukkos 5772, Shluchim, Anash and children from four countries – Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium travelled far to watch the very first printing of a Hebrew-German Tanya in Darmstadt, Germany, farbreng, say “Lechaim” and learn from the first galley proof.

The Laws Of Jewish Conversion by Rabbi Mordechai Becher

How to become jewish?

Konvertiten – ORF Beitrag
